Cappelleria Bertacchi is run by the Bertacchi family from Siena (Italy).

The Bertacchi Family can trace its roots in Tuscany back to the 6th Century. The family motto “oportuna quaero”, Latin for “find your luck”, embodies our tradition and values. Three generations ago, our great grandfather used his considerable handcrafting skills and opened a hat “bottega”, atelier, in Siena, in the heart of Tuscany. Our region has been, for centuries, the undisputed world leader in the production of fine hats.

Our great grandfather passed skills and techniques on from generation to generation and our family opened another bottega in Lucca, Italy in 2014. The following year we opened our first ever North American location in Vancouver, Canada.

Our hat designs are inspired by classic Italian pieces from the 1940s and 1950s, along with also creating innovative and unique items. Cappelleria Bertacchi is a trendsetter, together with other Italian design companies in Vancouver.

We've grown our business by staying faithful to the tradition of Tuscan artisans: we only use high quality, natural products and fabrics (straw, felt, merino wool) that is carefully spun and woven
by skilled manufacturers in our ateliers in Tuscany.

We've also expanded our selection to offer a few other handmade Italian products. We have a curated collection of handcrafted ties, bowties and pocket-squares, as well as scarves, sunglasses, soaps and umbrellas that are all designed and produced in Italy.

In 2015 we opened the Canadian branch in Gastown, Vancouver: and over the last five years the company’s goal has been to share the traditions of artisanal Tuscan craftsmanship with the local community. Since then, Cappelleria Bertacchi has had multiple and notable collaborations with some of Vancouver’s renowned organizations and corporations such as the Italian Chamber of
Commerce, Italian General Consulate, Deighton Cup, DanceHouse, Style by Sarai, Senator Bepsoke, Fleur Luxury Wedding
Show and Forum, amongst others.

Cappelleria Bertacchi is one of the businesses selected to be part of Vancouver's Italian Map of Design.

We regularly collaborate with the film Industry providing hats and accessories for popular tv shows and movie productions. We also offer a service of customization and rental for the film industry.  Our hats have appeared in numerous productions (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina-Netflix-, The Man in the High Castle-Amazon, The Good Doctor-ABC, The Philosophy of Phil by Greg Kinnear, Bad Times at the El Royale by Drew Goddard, among others).

In our Atelier we organize workshops that are open to the public as well as monthly presentations on various hat related subjects. We are also proud to offer comprehensive cleaning and repair services for all types of hats.
